We probably know each other as I was at Lane with the 129th as a pilot then AC from 4/69 until 11/70. My name is Dick Muirhead my call # Bulldog 23 call sign Bulldog Cherry. You did not leave a name or contact address or number on your entry. My phone number and address is listed in the contact section of the Home of the 129th Web Site. Please feel free to contact me as I have heard from numerous crew members of the 129th and I may be able to assist you in locating old brothers in arms and close friends. I wish I had never lost contact with many of the guys I am finding at present and would be happy to assist you or any other member of the 129th Bite and Strike.

Hello Everyone,
First of all I commend each and everyone of you for the proud and honorable service that you have done and some still do (still in military service) for "Our" Country. Thank you all. I myself was born in Dec. of 59 and have not been in the military. My father has, he was a paratrooper during WWII and had been awarded the Purple Heart amongst other medals. His father, my grandfather also served "Our" Country during WWI and was awarded the "Congressional Medal of Honor." His name was Capt. George H. Mallon, my grandfather.
I am here today in an attempt to search for my 3 half brothers from my father, Robert Currie Mallon's first marriage. I never in my life have met them, but I have been searching for them many years. I have heard possible stories how the youngest, which I think his first name might be either Bruce or possibly Clark. I have heard stories of how he might have been a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War.
I know my father, Robert Currie Mallon was 16 or 17 yrs old (1939-1941) and living somewhere around Minneapolis Minnesota when he married his first wife Lois. I do not know what Lois's maiden name was nor when she remarried and her new husband adopted all 3 of the boys, I do not know what their new last name is either.
The oldest boy (Rodney) would have been born near the above mentioned years (1939-1941). The youngest boy (I believe is Bruce) would have been born somewhere around 1948-1949. And the middle boy (Clark) would have been born somewhere in between those years.
After Lois remarried and her new husband adopted and gave the boys his last name (unknown). It's possible that they all might have migrated toward Alexandria Minnesota to live and grew up there. I also have been told that either 2 or all 3 brothers at one time all owned a bar / restraunt. I have had no where to turn and have run out of options, so I thought I might try here.
Any information anyone might have about someone they know or knew that might fit this description, if even only in a small way. Any information would be "very" appreciated. Thank you all for allowing me to make this post. And thank you again for the very appreciated service you have given to "Our" Country. Thank You.
Best wishes to all,
Robert B. Mallon

Ray Hoagland told me about your site. I was stationed at NKP, Thailand in 1965-1966, the early days. I was a Weapons Controller. Back then, you could sign up and go on Jolly Green missions. I went out a number of times and in doing so, they gave me a M-16 and I played door gunner. Wish I would have had a 60. I do so admire those door gunners. I was Air Force by the way. I worked out of Invert Control. Thanks guys for all your dedication. Welcome home.

This is my first time visiting this site; came off the VHPA.org page. Want to say that many of the Delta Avn. Bn. will be having their second reunion down at Mother Rucker towards the end of May. I hope to see members of the 175th Outlaws there and new friends from Soc Trang. For those of you with fond memories of Vinh Long, check out my book "OUTLAWS IN VIETNAM" for our period of 1966-67 in the Mekong Delta. Also, the Mavericks want to get as many people together at the Dallas VHPA CONVENTION in July. See you there! DAVE EASTMAN, OUTLAW 23,-24

SP4 John A. Hulbert, aka Harpo, flew guns with 18th C.A.C.(Combat Aviation Corp),1st AVN. BDE. (Aviation Brigade), from June,72 until January,73. Served with a Morningstar,Birdsong,Lanning (Mighty Mouse),Birksstedt, and others. Anyone still around? In the 12 short (long?) months I spent over there I met more people with a grasp of reality, an honesty of heart, than I have met in the 30 years since. I'd done a bit of helmet and nose art, maybe yours? My ship was "Orange Sunshine". Go figure! If any of my brothers are still around, drop a line. God Bless!

First visit to site. A very proud Aussie who served with the famous EMU's of the 135th AHC. My tour was 1969/70 and based at Bearcat then finally Dong Tam. For 4 years the 135th was manned by a mixture of Australian Navy Fleet Air Arm and US Army Aviation personel. Check out for a great website and history of this integrated unit.......Ian R Wilson.E5. Night Shift Engine Shop. Daytime Crewchief on Slicks. Interesting fact that some 25 of us finally received our Air Medals this year after more than 33 years wait due to political reasons in our country regarding foreign decorations. This has been partly resolved and we are still struggling to obtain our VCG and Civil Actions unit citations that the company was awarded....
