Fairy tales begin: "Once upon a time ........."
Combat stories begin: "This is no shit!"
The Vietnam War has been misunderstood and the Vietnam Veteran has been misjudged.

The following is a collection of stories that depict the truth about what Vietnam was like from the viewpoint of Helicopter Crewmembers from the very beginning of the war until the last day.

It is our hope and mission in these pages to honor and remember our fallen, to recognize the honor of service, and to educate the American public on that dark blotch on the history of our nation.

It is too late for us, there is no possible way that the injustice done to us can be reversed, no apologies can right the wrongs, the wounded cannot be healed, the dead cannot be brought back.

Only our memories can bring about the truth, and only our memories can stir the American public to assure that nothing like the disgrace and dishonor that was thrust upon the Armed Forces of the United States of America and our Allies who served in and during the Vietnam Conflict may never again occur.

Read these as they were written, with heart.
